A/Prof Joseph Suttie is a consultant cardiologist and general physician. He completed his undergraduate education at the Universities of New South Wales and Cambridge, UK, and later earned a doctorate at the University of Oxford, where he coordinated trials in heart failure and inherited heart disease.

A/Prof Suttie holds academic appointments at the University of New South Wales and the University of Notre Dame Australia, where he serves as Head of Clinical School. He has a strong focus on teaching, mentoring medical students and junior doctors, and advancing cardiology education in regional Australia.

Beyond clinical and academic roles, Joseph Suttie brings two decades of experience in corporate and government sector training in ethics and cultural reform. He consults on professional standards, recruitment, and ethical organisational accountability, and is a leading educator and facilitator in biotechnology, ethics, and professional development.
